Motorsport at the Palace, in association with title sponsor, the Ancaster group, is pleased to announce Roary the Racing Car and friends will be making a guest appearance on Sunday 30 May. Roary the Racing Car has shot into pole position as the hottest children’s television character of recent years and Roary’s appearance, alongside his mechanic Big Chris, is great news for younger guests, who’ll be able to meet animated TV’s equivalent of Jenson Button.
As well as making a personal appearance on the Sunday, younger guests will be able to enjoy an official ‘Roary Zone’ across both days, featuring a TV play area and a range of arts and crafts activities for all the family; younger visitors to the Zone will also receive a FREE Roary booklet, full of fun games and tasks.
Roary the Racing Car Executive Producer and Managing Director of Chapman Entertainment, Greg Lynn, commented: “Roary is a great vehicle for getting kids excited about cars from an early age and there will be a lot of motoring fun and games for children and parents alike to enjoy together over the bank holiday weekend.”
Martin Chinnery, Chairman of Sevenoaks DMC, organisers of the event, added: “Motorsport at the Palace isn’t just about enjoying classic racing cars, it’s about a fun day out for all. The very welcome guest appearance of Roary the Racing Car means our younger guests will certainly have something to tell their friends about when they return to school. I’m sure Roary will also be keen to meet some of his older relatives in the paddock; they can tell him what life was like when they raced here many years ago!”
Roary and his friend Big Chris will no doubt steal the show among younger fans, but older guests will be able enjoy a host of classic racing cars competing for the fastest time along the purpose-built course (which incorporates some classic features of the famous old race track).
Many of the vehicles racing over the two days will be back at the Palace for the first time in decades, providing a rare opportunity to see these classic machines reunited with Britain’s oldest purpose-built race track. Visitors will also be able to stroll around the open paddock, watching mechanics at work, chatting to the drivers and generally soaking up the racing atmosphere.
